Estimating oil and gas production from assets is essential to carry recovery processes. From the many techniques tools used for such a task, compositional simulation model important miscible displacement problems with complex phase behavior. متن کاملFully compositional and thermal reservoir simulation
Fully compositional and thermal reservoir simulation capabilities are important in oil exploration and production. There are significant resources in existing wells and in heavy oil, oil sands, and deep-water reservoirs. This article has two main goals: (1) to clearly identify chemical engineering sub-problems within reservoir simulation that the PSE community can potentially make contributions...
متن کاملA New Implicit Integration Method for Low Damped Cloth Simulation
This paper discusses a new technique that reproduces a stable cloth without introducing excessive damping artifacts. Semi-implicit integration methods have been widely used in cloth simulations for their high stability and speed. Artificial internal damping forces are derived from the linearization process of semi-implicit integration. This makes the system highly stable. However, the artificia...
متن کاملTie-line Based Parameterization for Thermal Compositional Reservoir Simulation
Thermodynamic equilibrium computations are usually the most time consuming component in compositional reservoir flow simulation. A Compositional Space Adaptive Tabulation (CSAT) approach has been developed in order to speed up the Equation of State (EoS) computations. The methodology adaptively parameterizes the compositional space using a small number of tie-lines, which are assembled into a t...
متن کاملParallel Compositional Reservoir Simulation on a Cluster of Pcs
We have ported a fully implicit EOS (equation-of-state) compositional parallel reservoir simulator to a cluster of PCs. We report on the performance of the cluster, both in terms of scalability and in absolute performance relative to an IBM SP. The simulator scales well through 16 processors, with each run taking less than twice as long as the comparable run on the SP.
